Why we teach it?

Design & Technology fosters a hands-on, creative approach to problem-solving and innovation. This subject empowers students to think critically, encouraging them to conceptualize, design, and construct solutions to real-world challenges. It provides a unique avenue for self-expression, allowing students to bring their imaginative ideas to life through the use of various materials, tools, and techniques.

By engaging in Design & Technology, students develop essential skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking. This subject not only nurtures their creativity but also instills a sense of resilience, as students learn to overcome challenges and refine their designs through an iterative process. Moreover, it promotes self-discipline and self-confidence as students take ownership of their projects, making decisions and seeing their creations come to fruition.

Through hands-on experiences with a diverse range of projects, our children have the opportunity to explore the world of design, understand how things work, and develop the skills necessary for future success.

How we teach it?

We have crafted a comprehensive curriculum for Design & Technology that blends traditional techniques with contemporary approaches, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of cultures and design perspectives. Our curriculum introduces students to the works of renowned designers, engineers, and innovators, exploring a spectrum of design principles and solutions. In our Design & Technology lessons, our children engage with various materials, tools, and technologies to understand the fundamentals of design, construction, and problem-solving. Through hands-on activities, students explore concepts related to shape, texture, colour, and space, allowing them to apply their knowledge in practical and innovative ways.
