Dear parents/carers

As you will be aware through the national weather news next week temperatures will be in the high 20’s with many areas experiencing over 30  ͦ. With this in mind we advise you of the following in order to protect your child in school:

• No sweatshirts.
• A sun hat, preferably with a complete brim.
• Sunscreen applied before the school day. Those children who bring sunscreen in must be able to apply it themselves and will not be allowed to share it with others.
• Bottled water. For those unable to bring their own water tuckshop has bottled water to buy if you wish your child to do so.

In the event of extreme sun, we will consider restricting time outdoors and keeping them children in school where it will be shady and cooler. We will ensure the school is well ventilated whilst at the same time ensuring the temperature in school does not rise.

In terms of uniform we advise that the children wear uniform appropriate to the weather. A number of girls are ideally dressed in the school summer dresses which are light. In terms of other children school polo shirts will be suitable along with school shorts. For those who do not have school shorts, the usual black P.E. shorts would be ideal.
